YOGA AND ITS MYTHS

Yoga has been adopted positively by some and there are still people who have a negative thought about the yoga. There are many myths that people believe and the myths are still surrounding yoga. These myths are false and they are rumored. They are usually circulated by people who have never tried yoga and who hardly have any idea about yoga. Yoga is now accepted by the majority of the people and the practitioners and experts. A yogi who is advanced in his practice and learning can perform various amazing postures and they are of physical prowess. His is true indeed and the practice of yoga can lead to the physical mastery of the body by the yogi or the one who have been practicing yoga from a long time. This can be done by any young human and it is important to know that there are many physical exercises in yoga that are not based only on the physical exercise of the body.

There are few primary forms of yoga. They are bhakti yoga, karma yoga, jnana yoga. These have the advance practitioners on them and who do not have to necessarily perform the physical feat in order to be called as advanced. The father of our nation,Mohandas karamchand Gandhi was an advanced karma yogi who have inspired many young people in today’s generation. But many hardly know about it and have knowledge of it. It is a flaw for labeling the yoga practitioners. The yoga practitioners are usually labeled as beginner, intermediate and advanced. This is actually taken from the belief that yoga is a exercise. The two different forms of physical exercise such as the pilates and weight lifting require much of the mental presence while practicing it. Just like them yoga requires the physical, mental and spiritual exercises for practicing it.

Hatha yoga is a type which does not represent all the forms of yoga. If hatha yoga was the only one to be the teaching itself. It would surely require an expert or a teacher who has much knowledge about it.

The athletic feats of flexibility can be performed by any child, but would we able to put faith on the child’s ability to teach the hatha yoga? Would you not be concerned about the physical safety of yourself and also the experience of the child? The experience the teachers hold?

Here the word that is used is experience. It is because experience is the thing that separates and differentiates the yoga practitioners from that of the other learners. You will be taught through the various aspects of the yoga such as the meditation, the pranayama, the niyama, the bandha, the mudra, the asana, the yama, and many more from the expert yoga teacher who is well versed and experienced in it.

If you happen to practice the hatha yoga in the yoga classes but you skip the meditation and the pranayama, you are actually practicing fitness yoga then. Half a loaf is better than none is a famous saying that goes well with this situation. It can never happen like that in the world of yoga and hatha yoga classes.
